Barefoot Cinema is much more than just a movie and our great selection of food and drinks is a highlight of our events.

Make sure you arrive early to enjoy an icy cold drink from the Barefoot Bar, tuck into some delicious food truck food and stock up on tasty treats from the Candy Bar – not to mention the live music and lawn games to keep you entertained!

The Barefoot Bar

If you’re looking for an icy cold drink, the Barefoot Bar is the place to be this summer as we’ll be stocking delicious craft beer and cider from Gage Roads, a selection of brilliant local wine from Quealy and the quintessential summer drink, Aperol Spritz!

The Candy Bar

For those of you with a sweet tooth, our candy bar if fully stocked with popcorn, choc tops, lollies and all of the treats you’d expect at the cinema!

Food Truck Food

If you’re looking for something more substantial, we are working with Bigger than Texas, who will be on site every night providing the best local meats and fish as well as plenty of vegan options for a bbq experience like no other. We will also have a rotating list of other food trucks serving up delicious food all night long (with one or two trucks each night). Think tasty tacos, banging burgers, amazing Asian, irresistible Italian and much more. Check out our Facebook page closer to the event for details of the trucks that will be at your screening.

Aperitivo Hour!

In an ode to one of the most revered culinary rituals in northern Italy, we are launching an Aperitivo Hour for the first time! Early birds who venture down will be able to enjoy the typical antipasti served in Italian eateries when they purchase any drink from the Barefoot Bar between 6 and 7pm. With a spread of cheese, dips, olives and so much more, the Aperitivo Hour perfectly accompanies a traditional Aperol Spritz, and equally satiates a Gage Roads Beer or Quealy Wine. Our non-alcoholic options are also vast for those who want them. Aperitivo Hour is presented in Portsea in partnership with the newly relaunched Stringers Store, while at The Briars and Rippon Lea Estate, we will partner with heralded Melbourne catering company Egg Unlimited.

Jalna and Barefoot Cinema is a match made in heaven as, like us, they have a passion for all things natural. Jalna is a third-generation Australian owned family business, that has not wavered from its founding principles of making pot-set yoghourt the traditional way. They have their own Biodynamic Organic farm in the Goulburn Valley which has been working in harmony with nature for over 20 years. Coming soon to a Barefoot Cinema near you are Carman’s new Super Seed & Grain Crackers. Carman’s is passionate about creating delight every day, and Barefooters will be delighted to experience this delicious new range of crackers with flavours like Rosemary & Sea Salt, Pepita & Poppy Seed, and Ancient Grain & Cracked Pepper. Packed full of grains and seeds to enrich your wellbeing, Carman’s will be showcasing this new range of crackers as part of Barefoot Cinema aperitivo hour each night, as well as with the Barefoot cheese, dips & cracker platter available at the bar (perfect to complement your favourite summer beverage).

There will also be one night per Barefoot Cinema venue where Carman’s will be on-site in a big way with surprises, games and gifts for all Barefooters! Stay tuned via the Barefoot Cinema and Carman’s social media channels closer to the season to find out exact details and dates for your summer scheduling.

What’s more, Carman’s will also be sampling their Bliss Balls each night out of their cute portable carts, so keep your eyes peeled for the new Salted Caramel & Coconut flavour, jam-packed with wholesome ingredients, with absolutely no added sugar.

It wouldn’t be a real summer event without the quintessential summer drink, Aperol Spritz, and we’re delighted to have Aperol as part of our events this summer! Sunny, lively and perfect for sharing with friends, the Aperol Spritz will be available to Barefooters across the season at all locations with its bright orange colour and zesty, bittersweet taste. Make sure you plan your Barefoot date to enjoy Aperol’s perfectly balanced combination of oranges, herbs and roots; a secret recipe which has remained unchanged since it was created in 1919.

Classically Italian, an Aperol Spritz is the most popular drink of choice for Aperitivo, with over 1 million served per day in Italy alone! Refreshing and citrusy, it will bring an element of true Italian style to any occasion. Aperol Spritz: come together and enjoy each other’s company.
DRINK RESPONSIBLY
We’re thrilled to have Quealy as our wine partner this summer. Quealy are one of the best wineries on the Mornington Peninsula, headed up by local icons in the wine industry, Kathleen Quealy and Kevin McCarthy.

Established in 1982 (originally as Balnarring Vineyard), Quealy Winemakers is the latest wine identity of Kathleen and Kevin who originally established the now famous, T'Gallant in Main Ridge, and were instrumental in introducing Pinot Grigio to Australia.

Kathleen and Kevin have amazing winemaking talent and they're not afraid to push the boundaries with new and exciting varieties as well as maintaining great quality Pinot Grigio, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.

Bigger Than Texas bring a lifetime of catering experience to the table. They will be on site every night at our venues providing the best local meats, fish and vegan options for a BBQ experience like no other. Think pulled pork from the Otways, smoked beef brisket from Gippsland, succulent chicken wings from NSW and slow cooked salmon, as well a roasted vegetables, hand cut chips and decadent desserts.
