Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is hailed as his most accomplished and visionary yet. This film visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. Featuring a knock-out ensemble cast (including Australia’s very own Margot Robbie and Damon Herriman) and multiple interweaving storylines (in true Tarantino fashion), Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.

*Note for the Rippon Lea Estate screening only: Out of courtesy to the nearby residents, we will be dulling the sound during one scene towards the end of this film. This shouldn’t detract from the film as there is no dialogue in that scene, but it will hopefully make a significant difference for those residents. Thanks for your understanding. This will only occur during this screening at Rippon Lea Estate.

Reviews

The film is Quentin Tarantino's magnum opus—a sweeping statement on an entire generation of American popular culture and an almost expressionistic rendering of the counterculture forming at its margins, gradually growing in influence.

Consummately acted by an unusually fine ensemble cast, the film will provoke and enthral, a sure indication the director has succeeded in making not only a handsome and nostalgic movie but also a challenging and subversive one.
